- Simple Tractors is a garden tractor community dedicated to vintage Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers tractors, featuring technical discussions, restoration advice, historical information, repair resources, and member projects.
Simple Tractors is an enthusiast community focused on preserving and maintaining older Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers lawn and garden tractors. Established in 1998, the website brings together tractor owners, collectors, restorers, and hobbyists who share an interest in these classic machines. Members can ask technical questions, exchange repair advice, discuss restoration projects, and share their experiences with different tractor models and attachments. The site primarily focuses on machines from 1985 and earlier and serves as an independent resource rather than an official manufacturer website.
The discussion forums are organized into sections covering general tractor conversations, technical tips, commonly asked questions, tractor values, memorabilia, and workshop topics. Members can also discuss specific maintenance and repair problems, modifications, transportation, and equipment. The Show & Tell section gives club members a place to post photographs of their tractors, restoration projects, recent purchases, and visits to tractor shows. Additional areas cover gardening, club events, announcements, and general community conversations.
Beyond the forums, Simple Tractors offers an extensive collection of historical and technical resources. Its Research section includes more than 1,000 pages of brochures, photographs, specifications, production information, and reference material covering Simplicity, Allis-Chalmers, Montgomery Ward, Homelite, and Deutz-Allis equipment. Members and visitors can also explore tractor registries, photo galleries, repair videos, service articles, manuals, wiring information, parts references, and attachment compatibility guides. Classifieds provide a place to buy and sell tractors, attachments, parts, and related items. Together, these resources make Simple Tractors a valuable online destination for people interested in keeping vintage garden tractors working and preserving their history.
